World War Z  is based on the novel of the same name written by Max Brooks. The movie takes place in several locations across the globe, where Gerry (Brad Pitt), a former UN investigator is charged with finding the origin of the outbreak causing ‘zombie-like’ behavior in humans. The fate of not only his own family, but of the world rests on his shoulders as he scours the globe in an attempt to disable the ‘zombies’.

I am generally anti horror films, I really don’t enjoy being scared out of my wits and unable to sleep at night. I decided to give this movie a shot, and I was pleasantly surprised, it was not a horror film with gruesome, gory scenes but rather an Action/Thriller in my opinion.  Brad Pitt’s character was believable and his acting was impeccable. The movie kept my interest throughout, no dull moments, and best of all most of it took place in well lit areas. Why is that a concern? If the movie takes place in dark, barely lit scenes it spells teenage horror flick to me. I’m glad we got to observe the zombie creatures and also understand their ‘disease’. Also no obscene language, incredulous right? An action film without lots and lots of unnecessary obscene language. Again, pleasantly surprised.
I would recommend this film as the perfect date movie, because guys, your girl is more than likely attached to your arm the entire movie. Self explanatory I think. if she asks “babe will you save the world for me” the correct answer (as it usually is) is “Yes, dear”. You can thank me later guys.
Just in case you need a visual aid (as you boys always do) That could be you and your gal ——->
Now I’m off the read the novel World War Z an Oral History, which is supposedly far superior than the movie (where have I heard that before?).
